Thinking Globally: The Roma Bar Show

On 29 and 30 May the Roma Bar Show will fill the halls of the historic Palazzo of the EUR Congressi of thousands of brands. Two days of experiences, masterclasses, seminars, talks, tastings, competitions, and off site events are in store. 

A huge turnout is expected again this year.

Against the historic backdrop of the Palazzo Dei Congressi in Rome, it brings together thousands of brands and industry players. Its focus is the entire world of hospitality and discerning consumers. Italy, a leader in the hospitality sector, becomes a benchmark on an international scale through this event at a time when hospitality and enjoyment are the central “product” in everyone’s lives.

Roma Bar Show offers its exhibitors and visitors several themed areas and a wide range of activities to take part in during the two-day event: from the Mexico Village to the Coffee Village, Piazza Italia, a large area devoted to the Italian liquor -making and distillery tradition to the world of specialty coffee. Featured are seminars, masterclasses and talks with the RBS Academy and its educational program for 2023. Of course, there will be many night time events taking place all over the city in cocktail bars, speakeasies, hotel terraces and much more.

Brand new for this edition are the Roma Bar Show Awards, a recognition created to enhance Italian excellence in the bar industry, celebrating its mastery and offering an important exposure opportunity of exposure for the most talented bartenders.

  • Best Bartender

  • Best new Cocktail Bar

  • Best Hotel Bar

  • Best Food Program

Andrea Fofi, co-founder of the event with Giuseppe Gallo, Fabio Bacchi and the Jerry Thomas Project, says: “Roma Bar Show is not simply an event, it is an intuition, a project, a philosophy, a lifestyle”. Fofi concludes, “The Roma Bar Show has become a leader not only in the bar industry, but also in sector training, with high-level masterclasses that attract world calibre companies and bartenders - and positioning itself as a forerunner in issues of social interest, such as inclusion and sustainability”. The yearlong efforts culminate in a bar event like no other in Italy.

The round table dedicated to the "Agave Spirit" is packed with notable names (also involving the Embassies of Mexico and Guatemala and its Ambassadors), featuring stars like Ivan Saldagna, Stefano Francavilla, Esteban Morales, Jesse Este, Sophie Decobecq and many others.

The RBS Academy by Perrier will be entirely dedicated to bars and their projects, with venues such as Paradiso and Essentia (SIPS) of Barcelona, ​​the Line of Athens, the Gibson of Berlin, Limantour of Mexico City, Maybe Sammy of Sydney and the Tokyo SG Club.

The Roma Bar Show will also be the host for the Italian final of World Class, set for Tuesday 30 May in the Auditorium of the Palazzo dei Congressi, and the world final of the contest Art of Italicus which will inaugurate the Bar Show with a pre-opening party on the evening of Sunday 28 May.

You can visit Piazza Italia, the exhibition area entirely dedicated to Italy and its centuries-old tradition such the spirits Industry that has conquer markets around the world; get to know the brands that make tradition a distinctive trait of their craft. From internationally known distilleries to newest entries in the Italian market, all of this will be included in the exhibition space celebrating Italy’s liqueur tradition.

Among the partners of the Roma Bar Show --with the patronage of the Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of the Municipality of Rome-- are ATAC, the company for mobility of Rome, to support green and responsible travel.
